People Magazine talks to Werewool Co-founders Chui Lian Lee and Valentina Gomez
Werewool cofounders Chui-Lian Lee and Valentina Gomez were featured in the Peoples magazine in an article titled “Your Clothes Probably Contain Plastic — and These Entrepreneurs Are Trying to Change That”
The former BDC alumni discuss their journey through academia and the motivation behind creating Werewool. Both quickly learned that many fabrics and materials were not eco-friendly and had devastating effects on the environment, whether it be recycled polyester creating microplastics or cotton’s large water footprint.
Eager to make the fashion industry more sustainable, they founded Werewool, a company that develops biodegradable fibers. These fibers are colored by specially engineered proteins eliminating the need for harmful dyes, making their product more sustainable. Intending to produce 125,000 tons of fiber by 2030, Werewool is eager to revolutionize the fashion industry.
