Elaine Young

楊綺鈴 (Yang Yi Ling) is an artist and designer with a background in bioethics and medical anthropology. She founded the LAByrinth PROJECT fashion brand, designing modern lockets that can be personalized with real DNA extracted and purified from people, pets, and plants. She also creates graphics for bomber jackets that incorporate scientific images and geopolitical population data into wearable visual essays that question the future of humanness. Through the intimacy of personal adornment, Elaine’s work examines how technology affects the politics of how we know, define, value, and govern bodies as material, culture, and data through science and science-fiction aesthetics and narratives.
