Amphiphilic Phosphorus Dendron-Based Micelles Encapsulated Curcumin for Improved Therapy of Acute Lung Injury

This project looks at a potential therapy using nano-sized capsules, called micelles, to deliver anti-inflammatory drugs to the lungs of patients suffering acute lung injury (ALI) from COVID-19 and other diseases.

Xiangyang Shi
Xiangyang Shi obtained his PhD degree in 1998 from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2002 to 2008, he was appointed as a research fellow, research associate II, research investigator, and research assistant professor at the Michigan Nanotechnology Institute for Medicine and Biological Sciences, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In September 2008, he joined Donghua University as a full-time professor. He has published more than 393 peer-reviewed SCI-indexed journal articles. His current research interests are focused on the development of organic/inorganic hybrid nanoplatforms and dendrimeric nanoparticles for sensing, imaging, and theranostic applications, in particular for precision cancer imaging and therapy.
Jun Li
Jun Li is Dean of Shanghai International College of Fashion and Innovation and Associate professor at Donghua University. He is a visiting scholar at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Science and Centria University of Applied Science in Finland. Jun has established multiple collaborations including the DHU-WOOLMARK Education Center, the DHU-SWAROVSKI Center for Creative Design, the DHU-PTC International PLM Research Center, and the DHU-DECATHLON Sportswear Design Center. In recent years, he's served as the Chief Designer for the official uniform of WORLD EXPO SHANGHAI 2010, including volunteer and visiting center uniforms. He has published more than 15 papers and books, including Research of Collaborative Fashion Product Design System Based on Knowledge Management, Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Product Innovation Management, Hubei, 2009.8 (ISTP) and The Research of Carbon Fiber Self-heated Outdoor Sportswear Design. 1st Joint International Pre-Olympic Conference of Sports Science and Sports Engineering, Nan Jing. 2008.8 (ISTP). Jun holds more than 60 patents.
