BDC 2023 Year in Review

2023 was a big year for the BDC team and our program alumni! Here’s a rundown of our very eventful year:

BDC Alumni Updates

SlimeVolt at Expo Chicago 2023

  • Werewool was the winner of the ELLE & Polestar Design Towards Zero Award and co-founder Valentina Gomez was selected as a Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient in Manufacturing & Industry

  • TômTex collaborated with designers and showed in garments on runways at Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week

  • Keel Labs was featured at COP28 in Stella McCartney's Sustainable Market: Innovating Tomorrow's Solutions

  • Keel Labs co-founders Aleks Gosiewski and Tessa Callaghan both spoke at COP 28 events

  • Keel Labs won Material & Manufacturing Innovation of the Year at the Positive Luxury Awards

  • Modern Synthesis collaborated with GANNI on a handbag to display at the London Design Festival

  • Symmetry Wood won the 2023 Forestry Accelerator 

  • Nanofreeze were 1 of 4 winners of the JLabs BLUE KNIGHT™ QuickFire Challenge

  • Aradhita Parasrampuria was named to India’s Forbes 30 under 30 for Clean Energy & Climate Change

  • Noemi Florea was named an MIT Solv[ED] Innovator by the MIT Solve community for her project Cycleau

  • Noemi Florea exhibited her project Cycleau at United Nations Headquarters during the Swarovski Foundation's annual Creatives for Our Future and at Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven

  • Julieta Gaitan was selected to participate in the 2023 cohort of Swarovski’s Creatives for our Future
