BDC at the nyc armory show

BDC Executive Director Daniel Grushkin spoke about the future of biotech at the "What's Next?" panel presented by The Armory Show and Artsy. The Armory Show is one of the most prestigious art conventions worldwide and Artsy is the premier online resource for learning about and collecting art.

 

Bdc attended the thought for food global summit 2016

Biodesign Challenge attended the Thought For Food Global Summit 2016 in Zurich, Switzerland where they led a workshop exploring the future relationship between farm and city in a fictitious landscape. The goal of the workshop was to explore, challenge and deepen our goals for the future of agricultural and urban infrastructure.

BDC executive director participated in sxsw

BDC Executive Director Daniel Grushkin led a panel at SXSW on "Why the world needs biological design." Panelists included Christina Agapakis (Creative Director of Ginkgo BioWorks), Kathy High (Professor of Video and New Media in the Department of Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) and Romie Littrell (Curator of The Tech Museum of Innovation).

bdc presents at synbiobeta sf 2016

Biodesign Challenge hosted a fireside chat at SynBioBeta SF 2016 entitled “Biodesign for the Real World: Why Design is Necessary for the Future of the Bio Industry.” Executive Director Daniel Grushkin, Ginkgo Bioworks’s Creative Director Christina Agapakis, and Modern Meadow Chief Creative Officer Suzanne Lee all spoke about the unique view design brings to the usability and applications of synthetic biology.

Autodesk sponsored the Prize for Best Visualization

Autodesk, a leading company in design software, was a Platinum Sponsor of BDC 2016. The Autodesk Prize for Best Visualization went to Southern California Institute of Architecture for their project Mutua.

Upenn’s team project was on display at the tech museum

Student projects, including UPenn’s Stabilimentum were on display at the Tech Museum of Innovation’s new Biodesign Studio, scheduled to run for the next decade.
