Brillo The Snail, (We are in it together!  Using hope, unity and joy in the face of trauma to help children cope)

Brillo the Snail is a 10-foot rainbow puppet in the shape of a snail that wanders through the quarantine quieted streets of New Mexico to lift the moods of children who are stuck indoors because of the pandemic.

A DIY bioplastic made of ground onion skin, garlic skin, coffee grounds, and avocado pits mixed with agar and glycerin.

Soft Energy Paths speculates a “quilted” bioplastics design that will exhibit locally sourced native plant color such as cactus or corn byproduct derived polymer, embedded with iron semiconducting material.

Andrea Polli is an environmental artist working at the intersection of art, science and technology. Her interdisciplinary research has been presented as public artworks, media installations, community projects, performances, broadcasts, mobile and geolocative media, publications, and through the curation and organization of public exhibitions and events. Andrea creates artworks designed to raise awareness of environmental issues. Often these works express scientific data obtained through her collaborations with scientists and engineers and have taken the form of sound art, vehicle-based works, public light works, mobile media experiences, and bio-art and design. Andrea holds an MFA in Time Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a PhD in practice-led research from the University of Plymouth in the UK.
