The project proposes a disinfectant spray and liquid that uses Bacillus subtilis lysate solution to kill bacteria without contributing to antibiotic resistance, a major concern among manufacturers of cleaning products.

Plastigrow

PlastiGrow attempts to replace synthetic fibers with polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), a polymer that biodegrades. The project entails vertically farming thale cress that is bioengineered to produce PHA within the leaves.

Eric Zeigler

Eric Zeigler is an artist, designer, and researcher whose current work involves photography and unconventional transformation of images. He received an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, and exhibits his work nationally. Examples can be found at www.ericzeigler.com. Zeigler is a Lecturer of Multidisciplinary Art and Foundations in the Department of Art at the University of Toledo. He created and runs the Art Print Center which serves as a hub for all digital artwork production by university students, faculty, and local artists.

Brian Carpenter

Based in Toledo, Ohio, Brian Carpenter works as a artist, teacher, researcher, and curator. He received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2012. He originates exhibitions as the Gallery Director and is a Lecturer of Art in the Department of Art at the University of Toledo. Carpenter teaches Fundamentals in Art Studio Technologies; 3D Concepts; Gallery Practices; Concepts in Art, Studio and Theory; and BFA Thesis. In 2016, he also co-founded and serves as Director of Curation for Contemporary Art Toledo, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the production, presentation, and promotion of ideas by visual artists from around the Great Lakes region and the world.
