Espacio Ts'aak

María José Pérez Bach, Andrea Lizeth Galicia Cabrera, Ángel André Vallejo Tapia

Ts’aak is a Mayan word meaning both “venom” and “medicine.” This project imagines a new life for an invasive species that is considered to be a blight on many beaches of Mexico—sargassum. The team imagines sargassum-based structures and activities that will attract both locals and tourists to encourage them to learn about the impacts of climate change on the beaches of southeastern Mexico.
