SPRu addresses the issues of wound care for diabetes patients through bandages geared towards foot pressure ulcers. These bandages allow for infection indication using mycelium, red cabbage, and salve made from spruce pitch, a native tree commonly found in Rochester.

Lori Resch is a Lecturer in the Industrial Design department at Rochester Institute of Technology. She is especially interested in the interdisciplinary nature of biodesign, and seeks to help students develop the flexibility and critical thinking skills that will allow them to create mindful, holistic, and sustainable solutions to tomorrow’s problems, large and small. Lori holds an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology and a BFA from the University of Notre Dame.
