The DoGreen Project

The DoGreen project is a waste management system for urban dog parks. It delivers waste to an anaerobic digestion chamber that both powers and fertilizes onsite greenhouses. The produce is then sold to support the program and promote community engagement.

Instructors
Jennifer Bissonnette is the Biological Programs Designer at RISD’s Nature Lab, and has had a lifelong passion for exploring the natural world through science and art. A Rhode Island native, she has an undergraduate degree in Biology, and her Ph.D. in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary/Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Jennifer’s work has focused broadly on human|nature connections, believing that a conservation ethic is best inspired by deep engagement with the natural world. Her experience includes working on Capitol Hill as a natural resources legislative assistant and teaching college biology, marine science, and studio courses.
Peter Yeadon is the founder of the NYC-based Yeadon Space Agency. Known for his pioneering research into new applications for advanced materials in architecture and design, he has received numerous awards for his work and frequently lectures at universities and conferences on the topic of materials-driven innovation. Peter's projects are also routinely featured in publications and exhibitions around the world. At RISD he has taught design studios on advanced materials since 2003, with previous teaching experience at Cornell University and the University of Toronto.
