From the Ashes

Outstanding Display Winner

From the Ashes was developed to promote the conservation efforts at the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) in Mississippi. The project uses charcoal from prescribed burns to create handmade Grand Bay Ink and an interactive installation that educates viewers about the benefits of prescribed burns.

Outstanding Instructor Winner

Devon Ward is a designer, artist, and educator who works across multiple creative fields including design, interactive media, and experimental art. His research focuses on design as an expanding field that blends new technologies, materials, theories, aesthetics, and methods to adapt to changing environments. He is Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at Auburn University where he teaches design and interactive media.
