Bio-Knitting Shelter

The project imagines a speculative future where humans migrate as a means to help revive landscapes ravaged by climate change. They build corn-based systems and shelters adapted for a warmed planet.

Instructor - 2021

Sung Yun Jang is an assistant professor of Design Department at Seoul National University. Sung works with the Living Design Lab, which researches designing aesthetic forms of living and explores the objects and spaces needed for the environments constituting human life. Recently, the lab has started biodesign research as a part of exploring whether it would be possible for designs to develop themselves into those with aesthetic artistry, utilizing materials, functions, and systems of nature.
